Here are a few free magazines available to people within the industry (you!) – these are great to stay up on what’s going on overall.

  • Website Magazine – about websites overall and a lot of SEO. Pretty hands-on technical, probably good to skim for sales staff but too technical to really dive into. Fun and easy read.
  • CRM Magazine – good for overall marketing and of course, CRM technology issues. Pretty dry, reads like a whitepaper but if serious about B2B lingo, it’s great to check out.
  • Response Magazine – really great for marketing-centric, especially big league projects like creating and running infomercials (yes, we can do those). Easy read, but packed with lingo – so you’ll get up to speed fast.
  • Selling Power – sales magazine
  • B2B – business-to-business marketing.. I think this is more about marketing than sales but might be useful.
  • Whatever Niche / Vertical you focus on – if you’re “going deep” into serving chiropractors, then spend a few minutes on google finding “free chiropractor industry magazines” – look around a bit and usually you can find this. Once you identify it, consider writing an article (with our help!) for the magazine… our CEO roger is a published author and it’s easier than you think to get published – and provides you some instant prestige and a great reason to contact prospects and past clients with the published article…. you’ll find lists like this and this.

Other magazines we recommend that aren’t free, but are inexpensive and will help you make money:

  • Inc, Fast Company, Entrepreneur - good for keeping abreast of small and medium business trends at large, and each time you read a great article it is the perfect reason to contact a past client or prospective client, send them the link to the article online, and tell them you thought of them.

Tracking Your Leads

To track your leads, just add "?agent=YOURCRMLOGIN" to the end of any URL. This is most often your first initial, last name - anyone who registers through that URL will automatically show up in your CRM pipeline. Example: http://SwiftWebDesigner.com/free/?agent=rvetruba
